This table appeared in a publication
called Eagles Market and Price Guide in1990.
Each month this outstanding publication
would feature several antiques that sold at
auction the previous month.
It included Photographs, descriptions,
wood type, age of pine, place of origin, and
other key features, along with the price; we
have duplicated several pieces from this
publication, this being one.
Made in Pennsylvania of pine, 84 inches
long, 36 inches wide, and 29 inch' stall.
The table base is constructed with
mortise and tendon and dovetail joinery, with
two drawers for storage.
The table has a three-board top with a
mortise and tendon breadboard end that is pined.
The table is attached through a sliding dovetail
batten that secures to the base with four hand
turned pins.
When the fronts to pins are removed the top can
swing up to form a sitting bench.
Wehave adapted this table by request from
foot to eight feet in length.
The over hang of the top allows plenty of
legroom all around the table.
